HOTEL VALUATION AND PROPERTY TAX PROGRAM

About the program

International Hotel Appraisers (IHA) is BCHA’s Premier Partner for hotel valuation, property tax consulting, and brokerage services. A premier hospitality valuation and advisory firm, IHA has completed thousands of hotel valuation assignments over the past four decades, ranging from boutique hotels and luxury resorts to full-scale casinos. IHA provides hotel and casino property valuations for property assessment/tax appeals, acquisitions, mortgage financing, asset management, and portfolio reviews. Additionally, IHA sets the standard in accounting for business enterprise value (BEV), management quality, performance, and market position.

Through this partnership, BCHA members get direct access to appraisal, property tax, and brokerage expertise trusted by major hotel ownership groups and independently owned properties across the province.

Benefits to BCHA members

  • Direct access to appraisal, property tax & brokerage expertise — a dedicated IHA partner contact for BCHA members, separate from IHA’s general client intake.
  • Specialized property tax expertise, backed by deep knowledge of business enterprise value (BEV) — a technical valuation specialty most firms don’t carry in-house.
  • Co-branded Market IQ dashboard — IHA’s data-driven market intelligence platform, shared with BCHA members as part of the partnership.
  • A partner invested in representing hotel interests — IHA works alongside BCHA’s government relations efforts to engage directly with provincial assessment authorities.
