POLARON ENERGY STORAGE INCENTIVE PROGRAM

About the program

The Energy Storage Incentive Program, delivered by Polaron in partnership with BC Hydro, helps BCHA members lower energy costs through advanced battery storage solutions. The program offers substantial rebates, covering up to 80% of total battery system costs, making large-scale energy upgrades accessible for hotels.

By installing a battery energy storage system (BESS), hotels can reduce peak demand charges, protect operations during power outages, and strengthen energy resilience. Through a P3-style model, BC Hydro provides funding, Polaron delivers design, installation, controls, and maintenance, and the hotel provides space and grid connection. The result is guaranteed savings with minimal upfront investment.

Benefits to members

Lower Monthly Power Costs:
Battery systems reduce expensive peak demand charges by supplying power during high-use periods and recharging when demand is lower, cutting operating costs month after month.

Up to 80% Rebate Support:
Eligible hotels can receive rebates covering most of the battery investment, dramatically lowering the cost of participation.

Energy Security for Guests:
Battery storage provides backup power during outages, supporting uninterrupted operations and protecting guest experience.

Exclusive Financing:
Access Polaron’s 0.99% Sunline Financing with a 10-year term, $1,000 down, and flexible payoff options, designed to be cash-flow positive in year one.

Stackable Incentives:
Combine the storage incentive with solar rebates up to $5,000,000 and clean technology tax credits of up to 30% of remaining costs.

Turnkey Delivery:
Polaron manages applications, design, installation, controls, and ongoing maintenance, saving hotels time and internal resources.
