With her years of international travel industry experience, Xenia Slosarcik could live and work almost anywhere in the world. Now back in B.C., she has taken on a new mandate: helping shape the future of Surrey’s tourism industry.
Xenia Slosarcik’ s lifetime of travels would be the envy of most of us. Originally from Slovakia, she earned a university degree in Marketing Communication followed by a Master’s in Political Science. Her career soon took her across borders, with progressive marketing and travel industry roles in several countries before she eventually found her way to the Lower Mainland, and immediately knew it was where she wanted to stay.

After 11 years working in the region, Xenia begins her next chapter as the newly appointed Director of Business Development for the Surrey Hotel and Motel Association.
She brings with her a wealth of international tourism and hotel management experience gained in the U.K., Europe, and in Mexico. After returning to Canada permanently, Surrey was among several key BC markets she would frequently visit as part of her business territory.
Xenia first arrived in Canada in 2014 on a temporary visa, working as a marketing coordinator in Vancouver, and quickly fell in love with British Columbia. After spending two years in Mexico working in sales for a luxury resort brand in Puerto Vallarta, she returned to Canada in 2017 to build a long-term career in the travel and hospitality sector.
She began as a sales consultant for Flight Centre in Vancouver before quickly stepping into a Sales and Marketing Manager role with the Best Western Premier Chateau Granville Hotel. There, she thrived in the hotel environment, driving sales performance and leading major initiatives including a full hotel rebrand, the launch of a new Tiki restaurant, and new content creation for digital marketing, social media, and print collateral.
In 2023, she joined the Globus Family of Brands, an international corporation representing multiple tour-related companies. Over the next two years, Xenia spent much of her time on the road, managing more than 200 accounts across British Columbia, delivering presentations, hosting events, and leading international FAM trips for travel advisors. Her efforts contributed to year-over-year growth in territory sales, further strengthening Globus’ presence in key markets including Vancouver, Surrey, and the Okanagan.
Now in her role with the Surrey Hotel and Motel Association, Xenia brings her collaborative spirit, attention to detail, passion for destination marketing, and expertise in relationship-building to support and elevate Surrey’s tourism sector.
“We’re so pleased to have someone with Xenia’s broad knowledge of the travel and tourism sector here to Surrey,” John Kearns, Chair of the Surrey Hotel and Motel Association. “Xenia knows the world, she knows Surrey and has seen the travel world from many perspectives. We’re sure that broad expertise combined with her local intel and connections will help take tourism in Surrey to even greater heights as our city continues to grow.”
