Vanda Fragoso

Member Services Coordinator

The go-to resource for members, Vanda is dedicated to providing personalized support and exceptional service. With a focus on relationship-building, Vanda ensures that members have the information and resources needed to succeed while representing BCHA with professionalism and care.
With a deep commitment to sustainability, Vanda joined the BCHA team in August 2021 as one of our GoGreen Program Sustainability Coordinators. Through her work, Vanda set operators up to receive an energy analysis, helping them identify energy and cost-saving opportunities. In Spring 2022, Vanda joined the Member Services team full-time. Her warmth, determination, and tireless work ethic make her a unstoppable advocate for BC’s hospitality sector, where she lends her talents to supporting our members with their needs. Vanda’s roots in the travel and tourism sector run deep! Prior to her role with the BCHA, Vanda spent over three years in the aviation sector, where she worked as Cabin Crew for an international airline, Emirates. In her spare time Vanda likes to spend time with her 4 year old puppy, Nugget; find unique items while thrifting; and creating one-of-a-kind builds in the Sims 4!

THE FUN STUFF

  • Where was your first job?
    • Barista at a bakery in a small town in Portugal. One of my tasks was to help prepare the pastries and bread around 6 am with the main baker.
  • If you could only eat one meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
    • Bacalhau à Brás. It’s a Portuguese dish with cod, onions and thinly sliced fries, you should try it!
  • What did you want to be when you grew up when you were in elementary school?
    • A Flight Attendant and I did it! 😊
  • Are you more productive in the mornings, afternoons or evenings? Why?
    • I’m more productive after I eat and have a coffee, doesn’t matter the time.
  • What’s the most unique travel experience you’ve ever had?
    • I had the chance to do cage diving in Durban, South Africa. I saw a lot of sharks and got stung by a jellyfish.
